Peter Harris, aka Social Security Pete, is a former employee of the Social Security Administration with over 20 years experience. During his time with the Agency, Pete personally took and processed over 20,000 (estimated) disability and retirement claims.
Pete has extensive experience processing hearings and appeals, continuing disability reviews (CDR's) and processing and adjudicating requests to waive overpayments.
In addition to Pete's extensive Social Security experience, Pete has an extensive knowledge of federal labor law. While serving as an elected official with American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) for the last 18 years, Pete has represented hundreds of employees in labor disputes across the country.
In this role, Pete has filed hundreds of Grievances, Unfair Labor Practice charges before the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA), EEOC complaints, and litigated numerous arbitrations.
Pete also has an in-depth knowledge of bargaining and impasse proceedings before the Federal Service Impasses Panel. Pete was the author of a global settlement agreement that resulted in the 2019 SSA/AFGE National Agreement that effects over 40,000 Social Security Employees.
